Work Equipment Inspections (formerly UVV Inspections)

According to the Ordinance on Industrial Safety and Health (BetrSichV) and the provisions of the DGUV (formerly UVV), every employer is obliged to ensure the safety of this work equipment.

According to the BetrSichV, work equipment is defined as “tools, devices, machines or systems that are used for work, as well as systems that require monitoring” (Section 2 (1)). The range of work equipment includes simple mechanical tools such as screwdrivers through to work equipment such as industrial trucks. In addition, special obligations apply to systems that require monitoring, such as elevators, pressure vessels or tank systems.
